A-Bomb Radio originally launched as a dedicated mobile streaming application created by voice actor and audio producer Preston Hardin. Built out of a deep personal passion for mid-century American culture, the project was designed to solve a specific problem: providing listeners with a continuous, curated stream of early 20th-century music without the repetitive programming found on mainstream stations. The app quickly found a massive, highly dedicated global audience, serving as an accessible portal to the music of a bygone era.
At its core, A-Bomb Radio is an intensive audio preservation and curation project. The station spans a massive library of music recorded between the 1920s and the 1960s, featuring genres ranging from early jazz and big band swing to classic country and foundational rock-and-roll. To create an authentic, immersive listening experience, the musical tracks are seamlessly blended with real, digitally restored mid-century radio commercials, historical public service announcements, and vintage station IDs sourced from historical archives.
